The National Company for Unified Procurement of Medicines, Devices and Medical Supplies (Nupco) has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining the Organization’s Procurement Ethics Accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). This certification serves as a testament to Nupco’s commitment to the highest standards of integrity and transparency in managing its procurement operations and enhancing trust with its partners across various sectors.

Nupco was awarded the Procurement Ethics Certificate after its team completed training and passed the exam in various areas of ethical procurement and supply management, in line with modern global standards. These standards include Integrity and Transparency: Ensuring fair and transparent procurement decisions without conflicts of interest. In the annual gathering of Nupco’s partners, titled “Towards Integrated Supply Chains,” and in the presence of the Board of Directors, we reviewed our most significant achievements during the year 2023. A panel discussion was held focusing on opportunities to enhance medical supply chains and the importance of investments and collaborative efforts among possible sectors contributing to the development of an efficient and high-quality healthcare system. The session aimed to achieve the targets of Saudi Vision 2030. Eng. Saad Al-Sadhan, the Deputy Minister for Supply and Engineering Affairs at the Ministry of Health, participated in the discussion, along with Assistant Minister for Industrial Sectors at the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, Mr. Amar Al-Taf.

Also, Brigadier Mohammed Al-Zahrani, the Head of Operational Operations at the General Directorate of Health Services at the Ministry of Defense, and Mr. Sami bin Hajilan, the Deputy CEO for Development at the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, were part of the event.

His Royal Highness, Prince of the Qassim Region, Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud inaugurated the nupco Logistics Center, as a continuation of a series of projects in establishing a network of logistical centers around the Kingdom, which aims of improving the quality of medical services and enhancing the efficiency of medical supply chains. The center will provide medicines and medical devices to patients across the Kingdom, ensuring sustainability. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and integrated logistics services, offering the latest equipment and technologies to ensure the quality and speedy delivery of medical materials and equipment to healthcare institutions in the region.

The launch of the medical logistics center in Al-Qassim region is part of nupco’s efforts to develop its logistics services and enhance its role in supporting the national economy, These initiatives and transformations contribute to the realization of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing the healthcare sector and providing comprehensive and advanced healthcare, enhancing the Kingdom’s role as a global model for progress in the health sector.

 As part of its expansion plan to establish a network of logistics centers, His Royal Highness the prince of Madinah Al-Munawaroh inaugurated the nupco logistics center in Madinah Al-Munawaroh with an area of 32,000 m ². The center is equipped with the latest technology systems for inventory monitoring to improve the quality of medical services. And the Madinah Al-Munawaroh Logistics Center plays an important role in supporting the health services provided to the Hajj and Umrah seasons by providing medicines and medical supplies quickly and efficiently.

The center boasts a storage capacity of up to 23 thousand pallets and 20 thousand storage shelves and includes a fleet of 19 integrated vehicles for the efficient distribution of medicines and medical supplies. It provides 100 jobs within the center.
The inauguration of the center comes as a completion of nupco’s strategic initiative to expand the scope of its integrated medical supply chain services to cover all regions of Saudi Arabia.
