NUPCO Honors Suppliers for Contributions to Healthcare Services During Hajj 1447 AH

Riyadh – The National Unified Procurement Company for Medical Supplies (NUPCO) has honored several of its supplier partners in recognition of their contributions to operational efforts during the Hajj 1447 AH season, at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Riyadh.

The recognition acknowledged suppliers who donated a range of medical items and supplies at no cost, helping strengthen the readiness of medical supply chains and support healthcare services delivered to pilgrims at the Holy Sites.

NUPCO noted that these initiatives reflected the values of collaboration and social responsibility, and contributed to raising operational responsiveness throughout the season — supporting the healthcare system and reinforcing supply reliability during peak demand.

The company added that the recognition forms part of its commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with suppliers and acknowledging the qualitative impact of their contributions, in a way that supports operational excellence and enables the healthcare sector to serve pilgrims with efficiency and reliability.

Nupco Signs MoU with Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Health to Enhance Cooperation in Unified Procurement and Health Supply Chains

Tashkent – The National Unified Procurement Company (nupco) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in unified procurement, health supply chain management, digital transformation, and capacity building, contributing to healthcare systems development, exchange of expertise, and healthcare services improvement in both countries.

 

The signing of the MoU took place during the official visit of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, to the Republic of Uzbekistan. This visit also saw the signing of several agreements and MoUs aimed at expanding health and investment cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Uzbekistan, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations and the two countries’ commitment to developing a strategic partnership in the health sector.

The memorandum aims to leverage nupco’s expertise in developing unified procurement systems and healthcare supply chains, and to enhance cooperation in inventory management, digital transformation, data exchange, capacity building, localization, and investment. This includes conducting joint workshops, preparing technical studies, and developing a roadmap for priority initiatives, all contributing to sustainable outcomes that support the development of the healthcare sector in both countries.

 

As the national arm for unified procurement and healthcare supply in the Kingdom, nupco continues developing the healthcare supply system through an integrated operational model that has contributed to increasing the efficiency of supply chains, enhancing the sustainability of medical product availability, and improving spending efficiency. This supports the objectives of Health Sector Transformation Program and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

This memorandum reflects nupco’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships, transferring Saudi expertise in healthcare procurement and supply, developing innovative solutions that contribute to building more efficient and sustainable healthcare systems, and strengthening cooperation with international partners to serve mutual interests and solidify the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional hub for logistics and healthcare services.

Health Minister Reviews Medical Technologies and Fleet Readiness for Hajj Season

Makkah, May 24, 2026, SPA — Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel inspected the readiness of health services designated for pilgrims during the 1447 AH Hajj season, reviewing a range of innovations and technologies presented by key health entities.
NUPCO showcased drones for rapid medical supply delivery, while the Saudi Food and Drug Authority displayed monitoring vehicles equipped with refrigerators and body cameras. The Health Holding Company presented advanced systems for ambulance fleet and medical triage management, including electric ambulance bicycles.
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority presented its operational fleet of more than 3,000 ambulance units, including rapid intervention vehicles, electric golf carts, motorcycles, and 11 ambulance aircraft for critical cases.
The inspection forms part of the minister’s field tours to monitor the health system’s progress and ensure high-quality readiness to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season.
